About Pendennis Shipyard Ltd

Pendennis Shipyard was founded in Falmouth, Cornwall, in 1988 by Peter de Savary, reviving a historic Cornish waterfront site as a modern custom yacht facility. Within a decade it had become Britain's most credible answer to the Northern European superyacht yards, with deepwater berths, large drydocks and an in-house apprenticeship programme that supplies much of its skilled workforce.

The yard builds in both steel and aluminium and moves comfortably between sailing and motor yachts. Notable deliveries include the 54.9-metre motor yacht Steel, the sailing yachts Adèle and Christopher, and a series of classic-inspired vessels. Pendennis works regularly with Dubois Naval Architects, Hoek Design and Liebowitz & Partners.

Refit is the second half of the business and arguably its best-known one. Complex rebuilds of classic yachts — including J Class restorations — have given the yard a reputation for the kind of structural and interior work most facilities decline. Ownership remains private and Falmouth-based.
