Columbus Yachts
Italy · Founded 2007 · Ancona, Italy
Italian builder of steel and aluminium displacement superyachts, part of the Palumbo group.
Official websiteAbout Columbus Yachts
Columbus Yachts is the superyacht division of the Palumbo group, which acquired the brand and its Ancona facilities in 2011 after the yard's founding in 2007. The Palumbo network of shipyards across Naples, Ancona, Marseille and Malta gives Columbus unusual industrial depth for a builder of its size, along with a strong refit capability alongside new construction.
The range is built around steel and aluminium displacement motor yachts, typically between 40 and 80 metres, with a design language that has consistently favoured long, restrained profiles over fashion. The Classic and Sport Hybrid lines are the core of the offering, and the yard has worked repeatedly with Hydro Tec and Tommaso Spadolini — the pairing behind the 53.7-metre Armada.
Columbus was an early adopter of hybrid and diesel-electric propulsion in the Italian sector, and the Sport Hybrid series remains one of the more credible efforts to reduce a superyacht's operating footprint without compromising range.
