Benetti Yachts

Benetti, an Italian shipyard, has a history in yacht building dating back to 1873. Founded by Lorenzo Benetti, the company initially focused on wooden commercial vessels for local and international trade. By the early 20th century, Benetti began to transition its operations towards leisure boats, evolving with advancements in shipbuilding techniques and materials.

Following Lorenzo Benetti's death, his sons, Ginone and Emilio, took over the management of the shipyard. They continued to expand operations, and in the 1950s, Benetti began constructing steel-hulled yachts, marking a significant shift in their production capabilities. This period also saw the introduction of some of their early notable motor yachts, establishing Benetti's presence in the luxury yacht market.

In 1980, Benetti was acquired by Paolo Vitelli's Azimut S.p.A., forming part of what would become the Azimut|Benetti Group. This acquisition provided Benetti with financial stability and resources, allowing for further investment in research, development, and new construction facilities. Under the Azimut|Benetti Group, the shipyard has expanded its product offerings to include a range of displacement and semi-displacement motor yachts, often featuring custom or semi-custom designs.

Over the decades, Benetti has introduced various series and models, focusing on different size segments and client preferences. Their yachts are typically characterized by a combination of Italian design aesthetics and engineering. The construction philosophy often involves a focus on onboard living spaces, extended cruising capabilities, and personalized interiors.
